How do automatic paintball guns work?
Most semi- automatic mechanical paintball guns are blowback guns. These fire when the pulled trigger releases a bolt which is propelled forward by a spring and pushes the paintball into the barrel. Once the ball is in the barrel, the bolt strikes a pin, opening the valve, allowing air to go down the barrel.
Are ion paintball guns good?
Compared to other electropneumatic paintball guns, the Ion is quite inexpensive, but its performance is not. With the right paint and barrel combinations, the Ion can be as accurate as any gun out there, and with a few improvements, its air efficiency is also quite good.
How do you change the velocity on a Smart Parts Ion?
The marker’s input pressure is how you determine the velocity for your shots, so after setting your dwell simply use your pressure adjustment to achieve your desired velocity. Higher the pressure, higher the velocity; lower the pressure, lower the velocity. Use the included 5/8″ wrench (or pliers) to adjust the screw.
Can a paintball gun kill you?
Paintball guns cannot kill you instantly, but they can cause injuries or shock that can potentially result in death. Paintball projectiles can travel up to 200 mph. That said, players must be careful with where they’re shooting — avoid shooting the head or the eyes — mainly when players shoot nearby.

Why is my paintball gun leaking air?
CO2 in a gaseous form creates pressure to allow for the high-speed firing of a paintball gun. Gas may leak because of a broken gas insert seal, or the air source adapter (ASA) is not screwed correctly. You can fix this by making sure the O-ring is intact, the ASA post is in place, and the parts are well-lubricated.
